I haven’t seen the outside of a library in weeks.
One of the reasons that I decided to go to graduate school is because I was tired of not knowing the truth. I wanted to learn how to research credible resources and be able to collect accurate and unbiased data.
Have we forgotten why we are here?
In the last decade alone I have found myself, like so many of you, in a never-ending and ineffective argument.
“Your media source lies. Mine tells the truth.”
If we are not operating with the same set of facts, how can we even begin to heal the state of our nation?
This argument has become such a widespread epidemic that we have lost the ability to communicate with one another and work through the issues that are most important like the welfare of our planet, our physical and mental health, the ability to educate ourselves, freedom of agency, the ability to earn an honest living, and so much more.
Some of us don’t even know what is at stake because we are so misinformed. The rest of us are constantly trying to figure out which sources we can trust for credible insight.
Who can we trust?
I wish I had an EXACT answer for you, but that would defeat the purpose of this discussion AND my credibility.
What I am going to talk about today is how to be more aware of when you are being lied to, ways to use your noggin’ (and your instinct) to know when a source may be manipulating the truth, how to remain skeptical with the ability to still receive accurate insight, and… just maybe… how to get out of the mess we are in.

Today’s Guest
Meet Elizabeth!
Elizabeth Blake-Thomas has always been a writer, it just took some life changing moments to bring this to the forefront of her everyday life. She first started with her blog- Divorcee, Daughter and Dog. Then it all seemed to flow; the screenplays, the children books and the adult fiction.
Her life has often been likened to that of a movie and so what better industry to be in than the movies. She is a producer currently working on major feature films and a TV show that will be released in 2017.
She believes she is two years away from the ten year overnight success.
She lives with her dog Chai, (because it’s her favourite drink) and her actress daughter Isabella, whom she home-schools in a little beach cottage in LA. She also runs a non-profit business that she set up with one of her best friends Tiffany Newton, which is currently part of “The Trailer Film Festival”.
She loves life and lives everyday as if it’s her last, making the most of all opportunities that she is exposed to. She works 24/7 and makes sure that her daughter sees this and understands its hard work and dedication that make things possible. Her biggest pet hate is when someone says they are going to do something but don’t. She gives the best hugs and her friends think they can sometimes be too tight. Learn more about Elizabeth—>
