All eyes are on Hollywood.
Welp, here we are. I don’t know about you, but it’s not a space that I thought we’d be in. As a woman, I certainly never expected to be publicly sharing my own sexual traumas so openly, and as part of such a big cause.
We are at the precipice of radical change as women break the silence on sexual harassment.
In the wake of multiple sexual assault allegations against Harvey Weinstein, Hollywood was initially left speechless. The revelations seemed to pressure many A-list celebrities to make public statements that, while worded “perfectly,” didn’t exactly seem authentic. However, it is still my belief that Hollywood WANTS to change. So I am calling out to Hollywood to take extreme action.
Everyone wants to be seen, heard and valued.
The #MeToo campaign has said to have had more than 5 million women participating across social media to bring relevance to a topic that has been swept under the rug for many generations. The space has been created for women (and BY women) to feel safe and supported as they are compelled to share their personal stories that show the magnitude and extent of this abusive epidemic.
Do we seek RETRIBUTION?
Maybe. But at the end of the day, we all know revenge and retaliation are not long-term solutions for this kind of reprehensible behavior. We want CHANGE.
Can this be fixed?
The nation really wants to hate Hollywood right now. They want to believe that Harvey Weinstein represents all of us. They want to blame the perpetrators as well as the victims and all who were complicit by turning a blind eye.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: BLAME IS COUNTERPRODUCTIVE. (This is not to be confused with holding others accountable for their behaviors.) There is no better way to remain victims than to give away our power by blaming someone else. Pointing fingers is a huge waste of energy that will only keep us exactly where we are instead of making the progress we all crave. In order to be the change agents we wish to be, we must not wait for someone else to fix things. WE HAVE THE POWER TO INSPIRE CHANGE RIGHT NOW.
How to be an Agent of Change
First, acknowledge that both women and men want to find real solutions. We can start with looking at our own behaviors and asking ourselves how we can do better. Then let go of our egos and VOW to improve.
Second, any kind of progress should be acknowledged.Women, for the first time ever are standing up for one another, listening and BELIEVING one another’s stories without question. We have vowed to support even those who don’t feel comfortable sharing their stories. Take a moment and celebrate this. It’s a big win.
Third, we have to be willing to call each other out, as well as allow ourselves to BE called out when an inappropriate behavior has been identified.
Finally, choose to continue paving paths that feel safer and even encouraging, for others who want to be a part of the solution. In other words, stop shaming them for past behavior and recognize their desire to change. Positive reinforcement goes a long way.

The opportunity in front of us
Whether you realize it or not, all adverse circumstances can be advantageous if we are willing to broaden our perspectives. Hollywood is no exception. We must CHOOSE to be solution-oriented and as highly creative beings we will find our way back to progressiveness.

Today’s Guest
Meet Dr. Linda Salvin
Dr. Linda Salvin received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Health Education from San Francisco State University in 1975 and went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Public Health from the University of Michigan in 1977. She was ordained as a Doctor of Divinity in 1999. In 2008, Linda was awarded her Ph.D. in Metaphysics from the American Institute of Holistic Theology. Born bereft of psychic gifts and originally trained in public health, Linda has traveled a remarkable life journey.
A series of devastating accidents transformed her life. Rather then dwell on her own challenges, Linda reached out to further assist and heal others as a medium and healer.
Linda’s radio broadcasting career began as the nighttime psychic on KBIG 104 FM in Los Angeles. Later she produced and hosted her own radio program on KIEV 870 AM in Southern California.
From there, she moved to the Cable Radio Psychic Network, a national audio broadcast system streamed over the Internet and carried through cable TV systems and big-dish satellite. In 2004, Linda began to syndicate her show “Linda Salvin: Visions & Solutions” nationally to radio stations.
By 2005, Linda was on the air in Los Angeles on KLSX 97.1 FM Talk and drew between 35 and 52 callers a night. She was on KLSX for the next three years until the station went off the air. While pursuing her broadcasting career and private practice, Linda was involved with producing her Wicks of Wisdom TV Infomercial, during which time she earned her Ph.D. in Metaphysics.
