She earned her MA in psychological science and her BA in honors psychology with a minor in child and adolescent development from California State University, Northridge (CSUN). Unfortunately, we would expect ourtrainees to fully attend the program. After her undergraduate studies, she completed a research fellowship in Pharmaceutical Research and Clinical Practice at the Yale Child Study Center. Her current research interests include mixed-methodology, community-based participatory methods, social determinants of health, and reducing racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic disparities in culturally-sensitive, strengths-based trauma interventions. Jacquelyn Chin (she/her) is a doctoral student in Counseling Psychology working under Dr. Tania Israel.Her research focuses on creative community-based mental health interventions among Black/Latinx LGBTQIA+ communities. She was then recruited by the VA Portland Health Care System and managed a suicide prevention clinical trial examining lithium augmentation with treatment as usual in veterans. As an undergraduate student, Erika was a Research Initiative for Scientific Enhancement Program (RISE) scholar; she is currently a Eugene Cota Robles scholar.
